About Deidre Bliss, LMFT, LPC
Overview
I was born in Texas and raised in Connecticut. I spent most of my adult life in Northern and Southern California and have lived in Arizona for the past 18 years.
I have a passion for the outdoors and love to run and hike. I am a dog lover. I am a mother of two daughters.
I have had over 27 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, couples, families, and adults. Prior to my Scottsdale, AZ practice, I had an established practice in Northern California and in Washington, D.C. I have conducted workshops in various clinical settings such as various hospitals, schools, and non-profit organizations. I have received specialized training in marriage counseling from the Gottman Institute which is based on 50 years of scientific research in what makes marriages succeed or fail. I also have extensive training completed to practice as EMDR therapist from the EMDR Institute.

Professional Memberships/Affiliations
I am a member of the “International Association of Eating Disorders Professional Foundation” where I have received specialized training for the treatment of eating disorders. My specialties include working with clients who suffer from an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, and domestic violence. I am also affiliated with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
9/11 Pentagon Counseling Years
In 2000, I began my work as an Employee Assistance Counselor in the Pentagon. During that time, the Pentagon was attacked by terrorists on September 11, 2001. I was called to action to perform crisis counseling to the victims who were at the Pentagon during this attack. I provided individual and group crisis counseling to both civilians and the military. Consequently I was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of the Army.
